My 10th century town in the mountains south of Rome, Italy.  This was taken from an ancient trail that winds up the mountain across from town.  The raw image was converted to B&W and tinted sepia.

An image taken of a group walking through the streets of town an night.  Long exposure and radical shift of pixel display.  Conversion to B&W and addition of pixel noise.  Perspective was corrected due to the poor performance of the Nikkor lens at wide angles.

Very long exposure at night of celebrants dancing at my son's wedding in Greece.  Simply an attempt to capture the feeling of the moment.

My new daughter-in-law was holding her hand high while swirling, her wedding dress billowing.

I suppose what fascinates me in these blurred, brilliantly colored images was the fact that they seemed to capture the feelings of the moment, the music, the celebration of the family.

I honestly don't understand from where each element of the image came.  The exposures were very long, from 1 to 2 seconds during which other photographers were shooting with flash and arms and hands moved through the frame, briefly lit by floodlights or random flashes.

I think that if there is anything like "straight photography" when using a computer controlled DSLR, this may be close.  Color saturation is deep and the image captures the movement, analogous to depth of field except in a time base, I would suppose.

A simple and straight closeup photograph of a flower in the Bronx arboretum.  We sought to capture the simplicity of the image and contrast of the deeply saturated background with the delicate colors of the flower.

Our family has a small farm where my mother-in-law and father-in-law work a vineyard that produces wonderful wines.  The 2007 year had reduced rain and plenty of sun at just the right time resulting in one of the best vendemia and wines in decades.

A simple shot taken with the f/2.8 55mm MicroNikkor lens wide open to blur the sharp droplets of condensation on the window behind the orchid.

An ancient monastery nearby Guadangnolo called the Mentorella.  Shot in the evening with the rising moon and emerging star on the horizon.  We were coming home from a hike down to the valley along a trail through deep woods populated with wild orchids.

A reflection of the Empire State Building as viewed from my New York apartment in the evening.

Graffito on a wall in town.  Sort of a comment on something, exactly what I have no idea.

Ice on Lake Erie near Fort Erie many years ago in another life.  Tri-X film in my old Pentax H1a and basic 50mm Takumar lens.  My friend, Rudy Dockery and I would walk out on to the ice field at the shore of Lake Erie at Waverly Beach park  near Fort Erie, Ontario.

The Chrysler Building as seen from our apartment window in New York with low clouds.  I have no idea why others don't like this print.  Honestly though, "chis-se-ne-frega", as we say here.

A self portrait taken many years ago while working on my favorite portrait of my first daughter.

View from the door of the 11th century castle inn our town after a rare snowfall.  My wife and I argue over who actually shot this.  She probably did because I'm usually wrong.

Our town as seen from the valley below our home.

A closeup of an orchid on our window sill.  Shot with F3 Nikon and f/2.8 55mm MicroNikkor lens with full sun backlighting.  Sort of like the Holy Ghost and some strange supplicant.
